NIT Tournament 2012, Minnesota Vs. Miami Final Score: Gophers Stomp Hurricanes, 78-60

The Minnesota Golden Gophers advanced to the 2012 NIT Quarterfinals on Monday night with an impressive 78-60 victory over the Miami Hurricanes.

Rodney Williams led all scorers with 21 points for Minnesota, and Joe Coleman and Andre Hollins joined him in double figures, putting up 14 points each. All three of those players, Austin Hollins, and Andre Ingram had at least five rebounds for the Gophers, who enjoyed a massive 37-19 advantage on the boards, and Minnesota shot a staggering 59.6 percent from the field in the contest.

Miami simply couldn't compete with that onslaught, despite forcing 18 Minnesota turnovers. The Hurricanes got 14 points from Rion Brown and 10 from Reggie Johnson, but no Hurricane made more than four shots, and Miami had a pitiful four assists on 21 made field goals.
