NIT Tournament 2012, Nevada Vs. Stanford: The Cardinal Cruises To 84-56 Victory Over Wolf Pack

The Stanford Cardinal became the final team to advance to the Final Four of the 2012 NIT following an easy 84-56 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack on Wednesday night. The Cardinal will play the UMass Minutemen in the semifinals on March 27.

Stanford never trailed in this game after Chasson Randle sank a trey for the first points of the game, leading to a 42-27 halftime lead for the Cardinal. It was more of the same in the second half, with Stanford again scoring 42 points to Nevada's 29. Randle tied Josh Owens for the team lead in points with 15. As a whole, Stanford hit on 53.4 percent of its shots, including 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Nevada struggled from the field, shooting just 38.8 percent, and failed to do much at the free throw line, making just 13-of-23 attempts. Malik Story and Deonte Burton scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Olek Czyz added 11 points and eight rebounds.

The winner of the Stanford-UMass tilt will face either the Minnesota Golden Gophers or the Washington Huskies in the championship game on March 29.
