VIDEO: Brittney Griner Ejected From Baylor’s Win Over Lady Vols

The undefeated Baylor Lady Bears are in the Final Four, but not without a bit of drama. They certainly didn’t have trouble getting past Tennessee, winning 77-58, but a kerfuffle in the final minute between Baylor’s Odyssey Sims and Tennessee’s Shekinna Stricklen resulted in double technicals and three ejections -- including one for Baylor’s Brittney Griner, who came off the bench to enter the foray. As you can see in the video below the jump, though, no punches were thrown.

The NCAA has already indicated that no suspensions are forthcoming, which is good to hear considering Baylor is on the cusp of an undefeated season. Given Griner’s history -- she was suspended her freshman year after connecting a haymaker to Jordan Barncastle’s face -- the fact that she was so clearly playing the role of peacemaker in this incident can be seen as a sign of maturity.

As for Stricklen and Sims, their beef appears to be squashed, as well:

“She just took it the wrong way. We had a little talking back and forth,” Stricklen said about Sims. “I know Odyssey Sims. We played together on USA Basketball. I apologized after the game if she took it the wrong way. It’s just not me. I’m not that type of person.”
