Big 12 Tournament 2012, Baylor Vs. Kansas State: Jones Scores 31 As Bears Roll
Jones, a sophomore who is considered by many to be a potential lottery pick in this spring’s NBA Draft, scored on a dunk to start the game and never looked back. He connected on 11-of-14 shot attempts, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, and went 7-for-9 from the free-throw line.
Baylor, which entered the postseason ranked 12th in the country by the Associated Press, now turns its attention to Friday’s semifinals, where it will face either top seed Kansas or ninth-seeded Texas A&M. The Bears lost both regular season meetings with the Jayhawks by a total of 32 points.
The loss drops Kansas State to 21-10, although the Wildcats figure to be in good shape to land an at-large bid when the NCAA Tournament field is unveiled on Sunday. Junior forward Jordan Henriquez led K-State with 22 points.
