One of two semifinal games is already in the books at the 2012 Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. On Friday evening, the No. 1 seed Kansas Jayhawks squared off against the No. 4 seed Baylor Bears. The Jayhawks ran into more competition than they were likely expecting and ended up being stunned and knocked out of the tournament with an 81-72 loss.

The Bears jumped out to an early lead and entered halftime up by a score of 43-35. They managed to keep their distance throughout the second half, while the Jayhawks were unable to capitalize on opportunities. Perry Jones III of Baylor had 18 points and seven rebounds. Thomas Robinson had 15 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort. Jayhawks guard Tyshawn Taylor led all scorers with 20 points.

The Bears will now play in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday against the winner of Friday's nightcap between the No. 10 Texas Longhorns and the No. 2 Missouri Tigers.
