The final stop of Matt Humphrey's college basketball career will be in Morgantown.
Boston College Transfer Matt Humphrey Will Finish Career At West Virginia
Matt Humphrey, Boston College’s second-leading scorer last season, will spend his final year of eligibility playing for West Virginia.

The 6’5, 195-pound guard who has attended Oregon and, most recently, Boston College announced on Tuesday that he will spend his final season of eligibility playing for West Virginia. Because he completed his undergraduate degree on time and is pursuing a graduate degree in a program not offered by Boston College, Humphrey will be eligible to play immediately for the Mountaineers.
“Matt will give us much needed experience on the front line,” WVU head coach Bob Huggins said. “In having played in the Pac-12 and ACC, his familiarity with multiple offensive and defensive schemes will help us at both ends of the floor.”
As a junior at Boston College in 2011-12, Humphrey started 29 games and was second on the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game. He led the Eagles in minutes played per game (30.3) and steals (34), was second on the team in 3-point field goals made (55) and third in assists (50).
Humphrey figures to provide immediate help to a West Virginia backcourt which loses starting point guard Darryl “Truck” Bryant to graduation.
