USC scores on their first drive, thanks to a 22-yard catch by Ronald Johnson and a series of runs by Marc Tyler to set up (well, sort of) a 37-yard touchdown bolt by Allen Bradford.

The Huskies respond with a strong drive in kind, but two straight Jake Locker incompletions stall further success, and the boys in purple settle for a 24-yard field goal.

At the end of the first quarter, USC leads Washington, 7-3.
