Missouri Vs. Nebraska: Blowout Brewing In Lincoln?

We may be experiencing the very early stages of a blowout here in Lincoln. After falling behind 10-0, the Tigers appear for one infinitesimal moment to be ready to compete. Blaine Gabbert completes his first pass to T.J. Moe for 21 yards, throws an incompletion, hands off to Kendial Lawrence for two more yards, and is sacked on 3rd-and-8. Mizzou punts.

Taylor Martinez goes back to work, and hits Ben Cotton straight out of the gate for 22 yards, then rushes for eight more of his own. Rex Burkhead catches a five-yard pass to convert; Martinez rushes for one yard on first down, then fires a 40-yard touchdown strike to Kyler Reed. 5:35 remaining in the quarter. Nebraska 17, Missouri 0.

You'll be shocked to learn Missouri's next set of downs does not go well. Nebraska gets it back two minutes and 12 seconds later, and Roy Helu runs on first down for a 73-yard touchdown.

Mizzou's next set of downs ends with a 15-yard Blaine Gabbert interception, and the first quarter ends with Nebraska up 24-0. The Huskers have 256 yards of offense. Missouri has 20.
