As the second quarter gets underway in Lincoln, it appears the Tigers have decided to get in the game after all. It's Nebraska that's held to a three-and-out to open this quarter, ending with a thumping sack of Taylor Martinez. Blaine Gabbert gets the ball back and gets pass-happy right away, hitting Jerrell Jackson, Michael Egnew, and T.J. Moe with consecutive completions of seven, four, and nine yards. An incompletion, a five-yard penalty and a short pass to Egnew bring the Tigers to fourth-and-1, and De'Vion Moore takes his ball and goes home, running left for a 33-yard touchdown. The Tigers are on the board, with 11:34 remaining in the second quarter and Nebraska leading 24-7.
Mizzou doesn't appear to be done defending, either, sacking Martinez on the Huskers' first ensuing play and stuffing him for a two-yard loss on third down. Might this be a ballgame still? Stay tuned.
