It’s gone from bad to worse in Columbia for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama Vs. South Carolina: Gamecocks Force Greg McElroy Fumble, Convert Possession Into Alshon Jeffery TD
On the first play of the second quarter, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy was stripped, and a Gamecock fell on the ball, giving South Carolina a possession in Alabama territory.
And then the Gamecocks capitalized, with Stephen Garcia finding Alshon Jeffery on a fade route for their second touchdown hookup of the day.
It’s South Carolina 21, Alabama 3. That’s an 18-point deficit, and the second-largest one of the Nick Saban era. The Crimson Tide trailed by 21 in the first quarter of the 2009 Sugar Bowl against Utah.
