Say what you will about the physics of the ongoing process of turning Yankee Stadium into a suitable college football venue, but for the moment, the future home of the Pinstripe Bowl doesn’t look nearly as likely, on spec, to flat-out kill somebody as the newly-erected gridiron goalposts of Wrigley Field:
Wrigley Field: An Idyllic Deathtrap For Northwestern And Illinois
Not a lot of room to run back there, to say the least. Behind all that picturesque ivy, the setting for Saturday's Northwestern-Illinois tilt, are quite a lot of bricks just waiting to concuss an unaware receiver running an innocent fade route -- wait! Wait, no, it appears the actual ivy of Wrigley has been cut back for winter and covered with tumbling mats painted to look like ivy, which in no way makes this setup look any less like it was designed by someone who has never seen an actual college football game played in the world. Keep those heads on a swivel, GameDay crew!
