The 2010 college football rankings that will determine which major-conference teams will earn BCS bowl bids are far from settled in Week 12, with dominant teams established but few conference races settled. Here’s what the Big Six leaders look like heading into today’s games:
ACC: The Atlantic Division is still very much a snarl, with Florida State, Maryland, and North Carolina State still in the game. Miami and Virginia Tech are possible contenders for the Coastal Division title.
Big 12: The once-vaunted South is in turmoil, with Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M still eligible. Nebraska and Missouri contend for the North.
Big East: Now that three of their teams are finally bowl-eligible, the picture is much clearer, but by our mangled calculations, five teams are still in this thing.Big Ten: Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan State grapple in the one-loss scrum, but Iowa could still sneak in.
Pac-10: Oregon’s got this locked down, pretty much, although Stanford could technically swipe the crown if the Ducks experience a complete late-season meltdown.
SEC: Solid solutions about already, as South Carolina has clinched the East and Auburn the West.
