With three of the five top-ranked BCS teams enjoying bye weeks, and a fourth already savoring a Week 12 win, is there room for movement at the top of the college football standings?
Oregon, Auburn, and TCU are all off, and Boise State made short work of Fresno State in Friday night action. LSU is facing Ole Miss, a very bad Ole Miss (although keep in mind that this is Houston Nutt vs. Les Miles, and even casual viewers should take nothing in this matchup for granted).
A strong performance from another top-10 team could theoretically result in a big enough rankings leap to slide into the top five of the AP and Coaches’ Polls, particularly if LSU doesn’t come on strong this afternoon. Stanford has a deceptively tough matchup with a Cal team that’s been almost unbeatable at home. Wisconsin is currently putting the screws to Michigan. Nebraska faces newly big-time Texas A&M; Ohio State has Iowa on the road, and Oklahoma State should cakewalk over Kansas.
