As you might have expected with Michigan fielding one world-beating football player with no help and no defense, the Buckeyes have begun to pull away here in the third quarter at the Horseshoe. Tate Forcier begins the second half at quarterback for the Wolverines, and is intercepted on the first play from scrimmage. Ohio State takes about two and a half minutes to set up a 32-yard touchdown run by Daniel Herron. Back in comes the injured Denard Robinson, favoring his non-throwing hand, and the Wolverines punt the ball back inside of two minutes.
In what will become the highlight moment of the game, an 89-yard Herron run on first down for what would be a touchdown is called back for holding, and three no-gain plays later, Devin Barclay kicks a 36-yarder to expand the Buckeyes' lead to 34-7. Michigan goes three-and-out, and Herron and Pryor launch another field goal drive, this one from 23 yards. Tate Forcier's back under center for the Wolverines, but goes three-and-out on three straight passing plays, two of them incompletions. At the end of the third quarter, Ohio State leads Michigan, 37-7.
