LSU may still be shell-shocked after an 80-yard bomb that gave Arkansas a lead heading to halftime, but the Tigers did manage to pull back a few points early in the third quarter.
LSU Vs. Arkansas: Tigers Cut Lead With Third Quarter Field Goal
After a 54-yard kickoff return by Patrick Peterson — who briefly appeared to be hurt in the first half — LSU managed a seven-play, 17-yard drive, which set up a 46-yard field goal by Josh Jasper. That drive featured one of the signature flourishes of Les Miles’ bold approach, as LSU converted a fourth and one, but the Tigers’ conservatism on offense is likely still holding them back.
Just one of the seven plays on the drive was a designed pass, and it turned into a sack.
And LSU’s hot start to the second half just got better with some more special teams brilliance: a blocked punt off of a poor snap has set the Tigers up in the red zone with a chance to take the lead.
