LSU’s defense can’t get off the field, and because of that, the Tigers might not get off the mat.
LSU Vs. Arkansas: Another Long Drive Stretches Razorbacks Lead
Arkansas just completed a second grinding second half drive with a chip-shot field goal, increasing its lead to 31-20 with just over six minutes to go in Little Rock. Arkansas’ Knile Davis has been a big factor in what looks like the Razorbacks’ biggest win this season, rushing for 155 yards on the day.
But Arkansas’s excellent second half has been about control with both the running and passing games. Davis and Ryan Mallett have kept the chains moving, and kept the clock running, helping the Hogs rattle off two drives of 80-plus yards and 10 or more plays. Those are demoralizing possessions, and LSU has seemed to lose both aptitude and hope as the Razorbacks have worn on them.
Les Miles has 17 comeback wins at LSU after trailing in the fourth quarter or overtime. If his Tigers are going to make it 18 today, they will need to pick it up, and soon.
