Wisconsin is probably headed to Pasadena.
2010 Bowl Projections: Wisconsin Smells Rose Bowl
The Badgers, white-hot to finish the season, have likely done enough to stay ahead of Ohio State in the BCS rankings, win the Big Ten (thanks to the BCS standings tiebreaker that will separate Wisconsin and Big Ten co-champions Ohio State and Michigan State), and earn the automatic Rose Bowl berth that comes with winning the Big Ten.
That game will probably pit Wisconsin against TCU in an irresistible force vs. immovable object matchup.
There is also an outside shot — really, maybe the outside shot to end all outside shots — that the Badgers could sneak into the BCS National Championship Game. But that would require the Badgers to be fourth in this week’s BCS rankings, then have Oregon and Auburn lose by huge margins, enough to erase their advantages in the human polls and compensate for big leads in the computer polls.
In that case, Wisconsin and TCU could still meet — for a national championship.
