Stanford Vs. Arizona: Wildcats Get First Points With Field Goal

Arizona doesn’t have to worry about being shut out now.

The Wildcats capitalized on excellent field position to get their first points of the night on an Alex Zendejas field goal, and made the score in Palo Alto 14-3. It’s not the touchdown the Wildcats would probably preferred, but it is a start.

And the benefits of not having a goose egg on Arizona’s side of the scoreboard anymore means that a quick touchdown gets the Wildcats right back in it. And with the Wildcats getting the kick in the second half, if their defense can clamp down like they have in forcing two straight three and outs from the Cardinal, this game that looked like a blowout early could still be a compelling tilt come the fourth quarter.
