Reports of a close game in Palo Alto may have been premature and exaggerated.
Stanford Vs. Arizona: Cardinal’s Third Touchdown Increases Big Lead
After being held to consecutive three and outs by Arizona’s defense, Stanford’s offense took care of business on a short field. Set up by a stellar Drew Terrell punt return, Stanford covered 35 yards in five plays and just 1:19, giving the Cardinal a 21-3 lead with under two minutes to go in the first half. Stepfan Taylor did the honors near the goal line again, scoring on a five-yard carry.
Arizona had been so close to making this a close one, too. But it looks like Andrew Luck and the potent Stanford offense will hit 40 points without breaking a sweat, and Arizona’s short passing game has had enough problems so far to make 21 seem like a pipe dream.
