The Adonis Thomas show is under way here in Detroit, with the Toledo Rockets RB posting 149 yards on only 12 touches, plus a pair of touchdowns. His second score was an 87-yard run that actually feels OK to describe as a scamper. Rockets QB Terrance Owens also completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Danny Noble in the half’s closing minutes.
Little Caesars Bowl, FIU Vs. Toledo: Adonis Thomas Has Rockets Up 21-7 At Halftime
FIU got on the board in the second quarter as well, with a one-yard run by Darriet Perry completing an 87-yard, eight-play drive. Perry has 88 yards, but FIU weapon T.Y. Hilton has only nine yards on four touches.
The story from the first quarter held true for the second as well, as FIU was able to hang on to the ball but not do anything with it, while Toledo struck quick and used all the time they saved to order a cheap, hot pizza for halftime from Little Caesars, made with only the freshest cheap tomatoes and realest cheap cheese.
