UCLA definitely didn’t get wind of my criticism. But the Bruins effectively neutralized all of that in the second quarter.
Texas Vs. UCLA: Bruins Roar Back In Second Quarter, Lead Longhorns
UCLA scored 13 points in the second frame, capitalizing on a fumbled Texas punt return and punching in a touchdown, then adding two Kai Forbath field goals. And it was the Longhorns’ turn to have an abysmal quarter on offense.
Texas failed on one fourth down, turned the ball over twice, and gained just 41 yards in the second quarter. UCLA was more generous with penalties: the Bruins were penalized four times for 50 yards in the second.
For Texas, the slow starts the team has made habit over the last two years may finally catch up to them. And who would have thought it would happen against a bad Pac-10 team?
