It’s Ray Drew Day! The five-star defensive end out of Thomasville, Georgia is scheduled to make his announcement at 10 a.m. EST at his high school. (A note to our friends in the wooly wilds of the message boards: Ray Drew is a licensed minister, so you’re going to hear a lot of calls to dub this “Revelation Day.“ Resist them. Thanks so much.) We like Drew; more than any other top prospect he seems to be winking at the process as much as enduring it. By his own admission, however, even his high spirits are wearing thin:
“Oh, I know where I’m going,” the 6-foot-5, 250-defensive end said on the eve of the big announcement. “I made up my mind a while ago. I’m ready to get it out and get it over with. I’ve had fun with it, but it’s taken its toll.”
Drew holds offers from over 20 I-A programs, and has taken official visits to Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and MIami. SB Nation’s DawgSports is convinced he’s headed to Athens, and has an open thread set up for discussion and debate. SB Nation Atlanta has a good rundown on the rest of the top Georgia football prospects.
Stay tuned to this StoryStream, where we’ll be covering Drew’s announcement and other college football recruiting news throughout the day.
