Akron, Ohio’s Doran Grant of St. Vincent-St. Mary’s has announced his decision to play for the Ohio St. Buckeyes in 2011. That hometown and high school sets us up for a second-consecutive LeBron James joke (yes, LeBron went to that school), but I’ll leave it to you. Surrounded by family, Grant repeatedly emphasized the definite article in the Ohio State University before producing a Buckeyes hat.
Under Armour All-America Game: Doran Grant Commits To Ohio State Over Michigan State
Grant is the nation’s top-ranked cornerback, according to Rivals, and the second-ranked player in Ohio. His father, Ted Jones, played wide receiver at Michigan State, which was also in the running. However, his mother says she’s always been a Buckeyes fan, so there you go.
Ohio State has the nation’s No. 8 class at the moment, with Grant becoming the school’s ninth four-star recruit.
Grant was recruited by schools from across the nation, visiting the two Big Ten finalists within the past month. He’s also played quarterback and wide receiver in addition to defensive back.
