QB Jeff Driskel, a Florida Gators commit, fired the first half’s only touchdown to California’s Devon Blackmon, who has yet to pick a school. Driskel and Blackmon nearly scored again when Driskel threw the ball something like 55 yards, but Blackmon dropped the ball while backpedaling wide-open.

If Charlie Weis is going to be in charge of the Gators offense for some time, he might have himself a good dropback quarterback in Driskel within a couple years. The six-foot-four Driskel is surprisingly slippery in the pocket, able to stay alive against an admittedly disinterested defense.
Vero Beach, Florida guard Marcus Jackson has chosen the Tennessee Volunteers over the Miami Hurricanes, saying he’s been offered a chance to work his way onto the two-deep or even a starting spot. Jackson had committed to Miami, but Randy Shannon’s firing prompted him to take another look around. He’s the nation’s No. 13 guard according to Rivals.
