When McIntosh booted the ball through the uprights, it looked as though the ball cleared the uprights by several yards. It was his second 50-yarder of the season.
Both teams have been plagued by turnovers so far. Pitt quarterback Tito Sunseri threw an early interception, but the Panthers managed to force a fumble to re-take possession. Kentucky very nearly forced a fumble of its own, but officials reversed the call after video review.
The Compass Bowl is now entering the second quarter. Kentucky has possession.
