Ohio State scored. In the end, that might be the most important thing for Buckeyes fans -- their team avoided the first home shutout for Ohio State in 39 years in their game against Michigan State. But that was the most that could be said for the Buckeyes offense, which scored just a single touchdown in a loss to Michigan State.
Michigan State Vs. Ohio State Final Score: Spartans Win Ugly Offensive Game, 10-7
Not that the Spartans were lighting up the scoreboard. They eked out just 10 points on the afternoon, the first seven coming on Kirk Cousins' 33-yards pass to B.J. Cunningham and the other three points from a Dan Conroy 50-yard field goal. The 321 yards of total offense wasn't bad, per se, but most of it was not turned into anything meaningful. The three turnovers might have had something to do with that.
Meanwhile, the quaterbacks for the Prylor-less Buckeys were 12-of-25 for 143 yards, a touchdown and an interception, and the running game generated 35 yards on 39 carries -- an average of 0.9 yards a rush. With those kinds of numbers, you can’t like Ohio State’s chances of making the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game.
