The Nebraska Cornhuskers' first official Big 10 game has them tied at seven with the Wisconsin Badgers in the first quarter. Quarterback Taylor Martinez ran the ball in from the half-yard line on an option-look play. On the play before Martinez's touchdown run, it appeared that he had gotten in the end zone, as the officials called it that way on the field. However, replay showed that his knee was down before the ball broke the goal line.
Nebraska Vs. Wisconsin Update: Taylor Martinez, Montee Ball Score For 7-7 Tie
Martinez has already rushed the ball eight times for 19 yards. His Wisconsin counterpart, Russell Wilson, didn't score a touchdown on his second drive, but his 21-yard run set up Montee Ball for his 10th rushing touchdown of the season. That score capped a 91-yard drive.
On his first drive, Wilson was sacked for the first time this season, losing nine yards. He also demonstrated why he has escaped so many sacks. He dodged pressure and was able to get a 21-yard pass off to Jared Abbrederis. Later on, though,Abbrederis, fumbled a punt return and gave the ball back to the Cornhuskers, setting up the eventual Nebraska touchdown.
