Alabama Vs. Florida Halftime Score: Bama Emerges From Mayhem With Lead

If anybody can explain to me what happened at the end of the first half between the Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide, we'd appreciate it.

Here's my best stab at it: the Gators were driving, looking to close the Tide's 24-10 lead before halftime. Quarterback John Brantley was strip-sacked. The ball rolled around beneath him, and linebacker Adrian Hubbard player picked it up. The head referee, who clearly felt the play was still alive, tossed his bean bag on the turf, marking the spot at which the ball was acquired.

A whistle blew from another official as other Tide players encouraged the ball all the way down to the other end zone at a leisurely pace. The zebras gathered to announce Florida had called a time out before the play began, though there was no evidence of that. All right.

In more important news: Brantley was injured on the next play, apparently suffering a knee. He left the game, leaving true freshman Jeff Driskel as the only Gators option.

The half ended with Bama still up, 24-10.
