John Brantley Injury: Florida Quarterback Helped Off After Injuring Knee

Florida quarterback John Brantley hobbled to the sidelines, barely able to put weight on his right knee, after going down awkwardly late in the second quarter of the Gators' matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Just one play after fumbling following a sack, Brantley was hit hard again, and this time the Alabama defense folded him him in the backfield.

Immediately, Brantley clutched his right knee, staying down on the ground for quite some time before trainers picked him up to help him off the field. Brantley headed straight to the locker room -- halftime was only seconds away -- but was barely able to put weight on his right leg, eventually just holding it in the air while using the trainers as a crutch.

Should Brantley be unable to return, Florida will have to turn to freshman Jeff Driskel. While a highly-touted prospect out of high school, Driskel has little experience and has yet to impress. Should he have to take the quarterbacking duties over, he'll be thrown right into the fire, facing an incredibly difficult Alabama defense while trailing by two touchdowns.
