Notre Dame Vs. Purdue Score: Fighting Irish Hold 28-3 Lead In 3rd Quarter

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are well on their way to a third win on the season. They lead the Purdue Boilermakers in the third quarter, 28-3. The Notre Dame defense has down a great job so far, holding Purdue to just 122 total yards of offense. Notre Dame's offense has 383 so far.

Tommy Rees has accounted for most of the scoring and the yards. He is 16-of-26 for 202 yards and two touchdowns. He opened the scoring with a 35-yard strike to Michael Floyd just 25 seconds into the game. That play came about because Gary Gray intercepted Caleb TerBush on the first play from scrimmage. Floyd had nine receptions for 123 yards.

Rees threw his second touchdown pass at the start of the second half. He found Tyler Eifert to complete a seven-play, 69-yard drive. Jonas Gray had a short run for a touchdown at the end of the first quarter, but Cierre Wood excited the crowd with his 55-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Wood has 11 carries for 125 yards so far.
