Jared Crick Injury Update: Nebraska Star Done For Season, Says Bo Pelini

Standout defensive tackle was apparently first hurt on Sept. 17, but had been able to play in two recent games.

Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Jared Crick has a torn pectoral muscle and will miss the rest of the season, coach Bo Pelini said in a statement. Crick was first hurt in Nebraska's win over Washington on Sept. 17 but was able to play in each of the Huskers' last two games after sitting out one game. The extent of the injury was apparently not known until recently. He had also missed a portion of training camp with a knee injury.

The loss will be a blow to the Cornhuskers, who are 5-1 and ranked No. 14 in both polls. Crick had registered 18.5 sacks and 140 tackles over the past two seasons. This year, he had already made 22 tackles and registered a sack, but had been considerably less effective since being hurt against Washington. In his past two games, Crick has registered just eight tackles and has no sacks.
