Michigan Man Dots The I (For Love)

They say love is blind. It cares not for color or creed or origin and it certainly cares not for your college football rooting interests.

Such is how a Michigan Wolverines-loving boyfriend ended up proposing to his Ohio St. Buckeyes-loving girlfriend at the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium Tuesday evening.

The choice of OSU’s midfield was apropos, given that Michigan vs. Ohio State has defined this relationship from the very beginning:

They bet on the 2010 OSU-Michigan game: The loser would have to don a T-shirt of the other school, take a photograph and use it as his or her Facebook profile picture. Wakefield lost the wager, but eventually won something more significant: a first date with Zellers, on Dec, 11, 2010.

It’s also a savvy move by Johnny Wakefield, who’s going to need all ammo he can collect in order to ensure their future children grow up to be Michigan fans.
