Hawaii Vs. San Jose State TV Schedule, Spread, Game Time And More

The Warriors come into Friday’s nationally televised game against San Jose State once again riding the arm of a prolific quarterback.

June Jones may have left the University of Hawaii following the 2007 season, but that doesn’t mean the Warriors are all that different. Under Greg McMackin, the Warriors have continued to pile up offensive numbers at a rather alarming rate, even if they haven’t reached the pinnacles of success they did during Jones’ highly successful nine-year run. On Friday, they’ll be on display for the nation as they visit San Jose State.

As is to be expected, Hawaii still likes to throw the ball with some degree of reckless abandon and they rank 10th in the nation with 343.4 passing yards per game. They are also scoring 37.2 points per game, the 26th best mark in the FBS.

Leading that attack is quarterback Bryant Moniz, who has followed up a junior year in which he passed for more than 5,000 yards and tossed 39 touchdowns, with an equally impressive 2011. The senior has thrown for 1,578 yards and 15 touchdowns, while being intercepted just once. In the past two games, he's thrown for more than 800 yards and 11 touchdowns, as Hawaii has gotten off to a 3-2 start that includes a win over Colorado and a narrow loss to Washington.

He will lead the Warriors against a San Jose State team that has started to show signs of life in recent weeks. Since their 57-3 pounding at the hands of Stanford in their season opener, the Spartans have gone 2-3 that includes a win at Colorado State. Of the three games they’ve lost, none have been by more than 13 points despite playing at Washington and BYU.

The Spartans are led by running back Brandon Rutley, who has already set career highs with 519 yards rushing and six touchdowns, despite missing last week’s game against BYU. In the Spartans’ two wins, he has rushed for 340 yards and four touchdowns.

Game date, time: 9 pm ET, Friday, Oct. 14

Location: Spartan Stadium, San Jose

TV channel: ESPN

Spread: Hawaii favored by 6
