It wasn’t pretty, but at least it’s over. What seemed like a marathon game -- it started at 9 p.m. on the East Coast -- came to a close at AT&T Park in San Francisco as the USC Trojans took care of the Cal Bears, 30-9.

The Trojans did their damage in the first half, putting up 23 points while pitching a shutout. Andre Heidari kicked two field goals, but didn’t kick another on a hilarious early fourth and goal, and Matt Barkley tossed two touchdown passes in the half. Marqise Lee caught the first, but also went down with an apparent arm injury, leaving the field in significant pain.
In the second half, the Bears exploded, or at least put points up at a relatively quick pace to end the third quarter. A Giorgio Tavecchio field goal prevented the shutout and Zach Maynard ran in a touchdown with just seconds to go in the frame, cutting the USC lead to 23-9.
But that was it for the Bears, who failed to score again. USC tacked on another touchdown in the fourth on a Curtis McNeal rush, and walked away with a 30-9 win.
