LSU Vs. Tennessee Final Score: Tigers Roll At Neyland, 38-7

LSU didn’t get off to the sort of start against Tennessee that it did against the Vols’ SEC East compatriots last week. But the Tigers didn’t need the fake punts and bombs that it deployed to great effect against Florida; in Neyland Stadium, LSU just dominated, grinding Tennessee to dust for a 38-7 victory.

LSU’s running game piled up 260 yards, and four runners, including quarterback Jordan Jefferson, had more than 30 yards for the Tigers. That’s more yardage on the ground than the Bayou Bengals allowed to Tennessee (239 yards) in sum, and it truthfully could have been much worse: a long interception return set up one LSU scoring drive.

The LSU defense continued its complete disruption of opponents’ passing games, harassing Matt Simms throughout, limiting the Vols passer to six completions on 20 throws, and picking off two of his passes.

With the win, LSU moves to 7-0 on the year and 4-0 in the SEC; Tennessee falls to 3-3 n the season and 0-3 in conference play.
