Nick Saban Has Another Tender Moment With The Media

It's already been a banner year for media relations in college football with Steve Spurrier ostracizing a columnist for writing negatively about the Gamecocks and Art Briles cutting off a reporter for asking a Texas A&M-related question to Robert Griffin III. Naturally, this means it's time to watch Nick Saban slowly boil in a bath of steaming questions having nothing to do with the Tennessee game, and then explode for his annual use of a single profanity in a press conference.

The quote, for those watching from phones or computers without sound:

You all create so many problems...I hate to start on this, but whether guys are going out for the draft that shouldn’t even be thinking about that right now, whether we’re worrying about the Heisman Trophy, now we’re worrying about playing Missouri instead of Tennessee sometime down the road...I could give a shit about all that, excuse my French. I mean, come on. Let’s talk about the game.

What year we talking about when we’re not gonna play Tennessee? 2025? I’m just hoping that I can still go to the lake then. Still can walk around and go on a pontoon boat ride.

[to next reporter]

You got a good question?

The best part of Nick Saban’s press conference explosions is always watching the buildup, where you can see the color drain from his face, the hate building, and then sense the exact moment he is going to drop a profanity. Saban later apologized, saying it was “a big game for him.” He would also say this before a game with Georgia State, a particularly intense game of charity golf, or a staring contest with a toddler. (Saban is undefeated in matchups with toddlers, and woe to the toddler who dares challenge his dominance.)
