College Football Rankings: Oklahoma Rules Week 6 USA Today Coaches Poll

The AP Top 25 and USA Today coaches polls appear likely to disagree in Week 6, but that's okay: there's plenty of volatility in this week's college football rankings. The Week 6 USA Today coaches poll is first to drop this Sunday, and it has Oklahoma on top, with LSU and Alabama following in close succession.

The Sooners have been at the top of the coaches poll for much of the 2011 season, and will likely remain there until a loss, despite the impressive resumes of the two teams clipping at their heels. LSU and Alabama each have multiple wins over ranked teams (the Crimson Tide have two on the road), and have looked downright scary at times.

Another thing that might frustrate fans: Stanford, which has been very good against limited competition, stays ahead of the Wisconsin team that throttled Nebraska on Saturday. The Cardinal and Badgers round out the top five.

Elsewhere, the Clemson Tigers move into the top 10 for the first time this season, surging to No. 8 after dispatching Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. And Texas makes its triumphant top 10 return after clobbering Iowa State, with Michigan just one spot behind at No. 11.
