Alabama’s Brent Calloway Arrested Near Bryant-Denny For Marijuana Possession

Alabama freshman Brent Calloway was arrested Friday for marijuana possession.

Alabama Crimson Tide running back Brent Calloway was arrested just after midnight Friday near Bryant-Denny Stadium, according to the Tuscaloosa News. He was reportedly charged with second-degree marijuana possession and released from Tuscaloosa County Jail.

The arrest won't have any on-field impact for the Tide for the time being. Calloway hasn't played yet this season, but the highly targeted talent made news throughout his recruitment by flipping back and forth between Bama and the Auburn Tigers before facing academic struggles.

The four-star prospect was considered the nation's No. 5 at his position and the top player from the state of Alabama by Rivals. He also had offers from the USC Trojans and a handful of other SEC schools.
