It’s apparently that time of year already! The Heisman Trophy is pretty important, but there are all these other awards too, including the Davey O’Brien, which goes to the best quarterback. The best quarterback usually wins the Heisman and all other awards, but they’re totally different things.
Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore Crown 2011 O’Brien Award Semifinalists List
College football awards that somebody surely cares about are starting to narrow their lists. Let’s pay attention to them.

Here’s the list as it stands right now:

Tajh Boyd, SO, Clemson, ACC
Kirk Cousins, SR, Michigan State, Big Ten
Seth Doege, JR, Texas Tech, Big 12
Robert Griffin III, JR, Baylor, Big 12
Landry Jones, JR, Oklahoma, Big 12
Case Keenum, SR, Houston, C-USA
Andrew Luck, SR, Stanford, Pac-12
Kellen Moore, SR, Boise St., MWC
Keith Price, SO, Washington, Pac-12
Denard Robinson, JR, Michigan, Big Ten

Darron Thomas, JR, Oregon, Pac-12
Brandon Weeden, SR, Oklahoma State, Big 12
Russell Wilson, SR, Wisconsin, Big Ten
Tyler Wilson, JR, Arkanasas, SEC
Boyd, Doege, Price and Wilson didn't appear on the award's preseason watch list, while Dayne Crist did. This information is of no value to anyone anywhere, but use it wisely.
Pick five finalists from that array, won't you? I'd go Luck, Moore, Russell Wilson, Griffin III and Weeden, just off the top of my head. How about you?
