Miami-Virginia, Houston-Rice Game Times, TV Schedules And More

The Miami Hurricanes host the Virginia Cavaliers on Thursday night.

The Miami Hurricanes host the Virginia Cavaliers in a Thursday night battle of ACC teams with matching 4-3 records. The Hurricanes are 2-2 within the ACC, while Virginia is 1-2.

Miami has won two straight games, beating North Carolina in Chapel Hill before upsetting then-No. 20 Georgia Tech at Sun Life Stadium last Saturday. Senior quarterback Jacory Harris has completed 62.1 percent of his 145 pass attempts for 1,244 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. Sophomore running back Lamar Miller has 799 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, 6-foot-5, 217-pound junior wide receiver Tommy Streeter provides a big-play element in the passing game, averaging of 20 yards per reception with a team-high five touchdowns.

With Cavaliers quarterbacks Michael Rocco and David Watford combining for 12 interceptions on the season, the offense is better off in the capable hands of junior running back Perry Jones, who has a team-high 576 yards in an offense that averages 183.4 per game on the ground.

No. 18 Houston Cougars host their inner-city and Conference-USA rival Rice Owls on Thursday night. The 7-0 Cougars are led by Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Case Keenum, who is 801 yards away from becoming the NCAA's all-time leader in passing yards. Keenum has completed 72.9 percent of 266 pass attempts for 2,685 yards with 23 touchdowns against just two interceptions this season.

Keenum will be facing an Owls defense that are 96th in the nation when defending the pass, allowing opposing quarterbacks to throw for 253.9 yards per game. The 2-5 Owls are led on offense by sophomore quarterback Taylor McHargue, who has passed for 1,045 yards and eight touchdowns this season.
