Wasn't expecting to need to monitor this game, but here we are: the previously 1-6 Minnesota Golden Gophers topped the previously 5-2 Iowa Hawkeyes, 22-21. The Gophers took the lead with about two minutes left on a MarQueis Gray touchdown rush, following a Duane Bennett scoring strike to Max Shortell.
Iowa Vs. Minnesota Final Score: Upset Of The Day, 22-21
With 2:32 to go, Iowa attempted a fourth-down conversion. The Gophers held, Gray ran out the clock, and that was that. and Jerry Kill’s got his second victory of his Minnesota career.
Considering Iowa held a 21-10 lead early in the fourth quarter and Minnesota is Minnesota, this one looked to be well in hand for the Hawks. At least Marcus Coker had an absurd evening, running for two touchdowns and 245 yards on 31 attempts.
