USC Vs. Stanford Final Score: Cardinal Win On Curtis McNeal Fumble

Curtis McNeal had a hell of a night for the USC Trojans, but his last touch brought him back to Earth. McNeal stepped up in place of Marc Tyler, who was injured on his first carry, and helped carry the Trojans to overtime. But on his final carry of the game, in the third overtime, McNeal lost the handle and Stanford recovered to seal the win.

And we got to see Lane Kiffin face, you guys!

The Cardinal had the ball first in the third overtime, and drove down the field with relative ease to score. The two-point conversion, mandatory after two overtimes, was good as Andrew Luck hit Coby Fleener in the end zone. Fleener was wide open after shucking his defender at the line of scrimmage.

Marquis Lee stepped out at the four on USC’s first play of the overtime period, just narrowly missing in his dive for the pylon. And on the next play, McNeal never controlled the handoff, fumbling into the end zone and into the arms of Stanford.

The final score after a wild game in Los Angeles: Stanford 56, USC 48. And yes, Stanford managed to cover the 7.5-point spread.
