Colorado head coach Jon Embree has reportedly suspended five players, all on the defensive side of the ball, after an unspecified violation of team rules. Following the Buffaloes’ last-minute loss to the Washington State Cougars last weekend, Embree rhetorically asked when enough is going to be enough at the postgame press conference, lamenting the team’s losses and struggles on the field.

Parker Orms, Ayodeji Olatoye, Paul Vigo, Josh Moten and Liloa Nobriga were each reportedly suspended, and the punishment is expected to last the entire season. Colorado is already thin in the defensive backfield, and the suspensions of four defensive backs will further tax the Buffaloes going forward.

Four of the five players are defensive backs, an area of the team already devastated this year by injuries.

Embree and his assistants were forced to use two former offensive players in the secondary last week in a loss to Washington State. Those players will remain on defense the rest of the year.

Colorado will shuffle its defensive players around again in an effort to breed versatility and fill the holes vacated by multiple losses on that side of the ball. It’s unclear what, if any, future the suspended players will have with the program going forward at this time.
