Oregon Vs. Cal: At Last, The Fake Injuries Bowl

When the California Golden Bears take the field against the Oregon Ducks (9 pm ET on ESPN, #FireCraigJames), one will have no shortage of story lines to pay attention to, which should come in handy considering that ghastly point spread, one of the week's biggest. (But don't overlook the fact that these teams usually play very close games.)

There’s that whole faking-injuries thing, Oregon’s new unis and an explosive offense against a stern defense (Cal is No. 14 nationally in yards allowed per rush and middlin’ in the Pac-12 against the pass). If nothing else, ESPN’s Thursday night broadcast crew is going to go out of its way to convince you there’s still a competitive contest on no matter the score.

Cal might lose this game, but it may very well win both the fashion battle and the pregame meal.
