The Oregon Ducks came out of the half trailing Cal 15-14, but were able to regain it again on their opening drive. The Ducks marched down the field on a 13-play 88-yard drive, mostly on the ground, only to score on a 23-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Darron Thomas to running back De'Anthony Thomas to go up 21-15.
Oregon Vs. Cal: Darron Thomas Leads The Comeback
The opening drive plodded along slowly as the Ducks ran the ball seven straight plays, until Cal picked up a pass interference penalty. Cal began loading up for the run, which left De’Anthony Thomas in single coverage out of the backfield, and he he the defender to the corner of the endzone for the score.
Cal caught the ensuing kickoff in the endzone, but were only able to get the ball out to the 5-yard line.
