Louisville Replaces Asst. Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Mike Sanford, According To Report
According to a report by CBSSports.com, Louisville assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Mike Sanford is no longer with the team.
CBSSports.com is reporting that Sanford is no longer with the program and has been replaced as offensive coordinator by quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson.
Sanford was not present at the end of practice on Tuesday or Wednesday or at any of the team’s weekly media sessions. There have been questions about Sanford’s status with the team all week.
In his second season with the team, Sanford’s offense is 105th of 120 FBS teams in scoring offense, 116th in sacks allowed and is averaging 120.8 yards rushing per game, down over fifty yards from last season. The Cardinals also were 86th nationally in total offense.
Sanford was the head coach at UNLV for five seasons before coming to Louisville.
