Texas Vs. Oklahoma Score: Sooners Up 13-3 Early In Second Quarter

It may not formally be the Red River Shootout anymore, but Oklahoma’s offense is firing with both barrels. A pretty pass from Landry Jones to Kenny Stills produced the first touchdown of Saturday’s Oklahoma-Texas rivalry, and gave the Sooners a 13-3 lead one play into the second quarter.

Jones faked a throw to the flat, then found Stills wide open in the end zone for an easy six-point play. The pass was Jones’ 12th completion in 16 throws on the day, and moved him over 150 yards passing for the game.

Those are numbers that Texas’ defense can’t be happy about, especially because the Longhorns have managed to stymie Dominique Whaley and the Oklahoma running game so far. If Jones can get whatever he wants despite the defense knowing the Sooners are throwing, it could be a long day for the guys in burnt orange.
