Oklahoma Vs. Texas Final Score: Sooners Dominate Red River Rivalry, 55-17

Oklahoma asserted its dominance in the Red River Rivalry by crushing Texas, 55-17, and served notice that it deserves gaudy rankings as much as the SEC titans that top the polls.

Landry Jones led the Sooners in a first half full of passing proficiency, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the first two quarters and leading Oklahoma on three drives of more than 60 yards before halftime. He finished 31 of 50 through the air for 367 yards and three TDs.

But Oklahoma controlled the game throughout, on both offense and defense, rolling up 453 yards of total offense despite operating in second gear for much of the second half and scoring three defensive touchdowns. The only Texas offensive touchdown of the day came on a fade from David Ash to Jaxon Shipley with less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter, and the Longhorns committed five turnovers.

With the victory, Oklahoma moves to 5-0 on the 2011 college football season and 2-0 in Big 12 play, and gets a massive win on par with recent triumphs by LSU and Alabama. Texas loses its first game of the year, and falls to 4-1 and 1-1 in the Big 12.
