Penn State Vs. Iowa Final Score: Nittany Lions Prevail In 13-3 Struggle

In an offensively-challenged game, the Penn St. Nittany Lions pulled out a 13-3 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. While the two teams combined for 648 total yards of offense, this game was about to be a field goal-exclusive contest. However, Penn State quarterback Matthew McGloin hit sophomore tight end Kevin Haplea for a two-yard touchdown with roughly eight minutes left in the game. That was the first score in nearly 27 minutes.

Penn State running back Silas Redd was a key part of that drive as he picked up 30 of the 49 yards needed to put the ball in the end zone. Redd finished the game with 28 carries for 142 yards. Anthony Fera was the leading scorer in the game with two field goals and an extra point.

Penn State (5-1) hosts the Purdue Boilermakers next week. Iowa (3-2) will welcome the Northwestern Wildcats to Iowa City, Ia.
