Michigan Wolverines players, coaches and fans held their collective breath when they saw quarterback Denard Robinson leave the game with an injury, but he was back out there after Northwestern failed to do anything on their drive. He wound up scoring his fourth touchdown of the game late in the fourth quarter for the 42-24 lead.

Robinson had trouble in the first half as a result of his three interceptions, two of which led to Northwestern scores. But he used his arms and legs effectively to bring the Wolverines back from a 24-14 deficit. He finished the game with 325 passing yards, 117 rushing yard, two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Junior Hemingway picked up 124 yards in the air.
Northwestern's Dan Persa was 31-of-42 for 328 yards, but he failed to find the end zone. The Wildcats scored all three of their rushing touchdowns and its one field goal in the first half.
The Wolverines (6-0) have showdown with in-state rival Michigan State.
